Pan Macmillan has pre-empted United Kingdom and Commonwealth rights for two books in a new horror puzzle series titled Cryptocross by debut author IL Harcourt. The Bookseller reported that commissioning editor Lydia Ramah acquired the rights from agent Hannah Schofield at LBA. [1]

The first title in the series, Cryptocross: The Haunting of Moorley Manor (65 Word Puzzles from Beyond the Grave), is scheduled for publication in September 2027. The narrative is set in Morley Manor, where resident ghosts require the help of a medium and a spiritualist named Sibyl to exorcise them. [1]

The series will also be published in the United States by Courtney Littler at Tytora, an imprint of St Martin's Publishing Group, who acquired the American rights through a separate pre-empt. [1]

Pan Macmillan is part of Macmillan Publishers, a British publishing company traditionally recognized as one of the Big Five English-language publishers. [2]
