A second season of the HBO original television series based on the Harry Potter fantasy books by J. K. Rowling is currently in development. Deadline Film Adaptations reported that the streaming platform is planning an accelerated production schedule for the series adaptation, with the aim of beginning production for season two in the autumn. No official release date has been set for the second season. [1][10]

The production is continuing to expand its cast ahead of filming. GeekTyrant and Gold Derby both reported that the television series has finalized casting for the roles of James Potter, Lily Potter, and Charlie Weasley. GeekTyrant noted that the role of Charlie Weasley will mark the character's live-action debut in the franchise. [2][8]

The television adaptation is being produced by HBO, Warner Bros. Television, Brontë Film & TV, and Heyday Films as the second screen adaptation of J. K. Rowling's books. The main cast features Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, and Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger. Other cast members include John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid. [10]

As FTMQ Books reported earlier, the second season of the reboot will include the book scene depicting the confrontation between Arthur Weasley and Lucius Malfoy at the Flourish and Blotts bookstore. [11]
