The upcoming HBO television adaptation of the Harry Potter books will feature the confrontation between Arthur Weasley and Lucius Malfoy at the Flourish and Blotts bookstore in its second season. Collider reported that the inclusion of the scene has been confirmed for the series. The show is being produced for HBO by Warner Bros. Television, Brontë Film & TV, and Heyday Films. [1][6][7]
The television production is the second screen adaptation of the fantasy book series written by J. K. Rowling. The main cast features Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, and Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger. The production also stars John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid. [7][8]
As FTMQ Books reported earlier, the current television project follows the original film franchise produced by Warner Bros. Pictures. Filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón previously directed the feature adaptation of the third book, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, after being initially reluctant to take on the project. [7][8]
In related publishing news, Seoul Economic Daily reported that the publisher of the Harry Potter books won a 21 million dollar judgment from Anthropic. The publisher stated that it will share the proceeds from the settlement with its authors. [3]
