Clive Barker teases new Hellraiser film projects after video game release

Clive Barker has teased that he has many ideas for future film projects in the Hellraiser franchise, Deadline and The Movie Blog reported. The author and director stated that the release of a new video game has reignited his interest in expanding the film series. [1][3][4]

The interest follows the launch of Hellraiser: Revival, a video game developed and published by Saber Interactive. Deadline reported that Barker served as writer and director on the original 1987 Hellraiser horror movie, which was based on his own novella. Barker stated he plans to stay involved with the franchise moving forward. [1][7]

The survival horror action game Hellraiser: Revival was developed in collaboration with Barker and released in October 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X and S. Deadline described the game as a wake-up call that prompted Barker to explore new creative directions for the brand. [1][7]

Barker originally launched the Hellraiser film franchise nearly 40 years ago. Further details regarding potential film production schedules or studio partners have not yet been announced. [1]
