Actor Adam Driver has ruled out returning for the upcoming five-episode television revival of Girls following an announcement by HBO. Deadline Film Adaptations reported that Driver confirmed he will not reprise his character, Adam Sackler, but wished creator Lena Dunham and his former co-stars the best of luck. [1][13]

The news follows HBO's announcement of a five-episode limited run, as FTMQ Books reported earlier. Creator and star Lena Dunham recently gathered with co-stars Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, and Zosia Mamet to mark the project, according to Deadline Film Adaptations. [1][13]

Dunham created, wrote, and starred in the original HBO comedy-drama series, which ran from 2012 to 2017. Driver portrayed Dunham's romantic lead throughout the original broadcast run. [1][10]

Driver has also ruled out other former roles while taking on new projects. The Hollywood Reporter reported that Driver confirmed he is finished playing Kylo Ren in the Star Wars franchise after Disney rejected a proposed standalone film, while Variety reported that he has joined Marvel's X-Men reboot to play Mister Sinister.
