Production company Eddy Cinema is backing Wilderness of the Greenriver, a new animated feature film presented at the Taiwan Creative Content Fest in Taipei. Variety reported that the film is directed by Barcelona-based Hong Kong director Ellis Kayin Chan. The project is set in a world where technology allows people to remove painful memories. [1][4]
Variety reported that the story follows a character named Arin, a man who has no memory of his past. He discovers that a patient named Zia is his lost sister. This discovery destabilizes his beliefs and unlocks childhood memories. [1]
The project was presented during the seventh edition of the Taiwan Creative Content Fest. Deadline reported that the event opened with a focus on strengthening local intellectual property, international co-productions, and exports. The event is organized by the Taiwan Creative Content Agency, which was launched in 2020 to host an annual entertainment content market that includes pitching sessions and awards. [2][6]
Deadline also reported that visual effects company Weta FX announced a partnership with the Taiwan Creative Content Agency. Weta FX Chief Executive Officer Daniel Seah stated that Taiwan offers creative talent, government support, and strong technology linked to its semiconductor industry. [3]
