Director Lee Hanju has unveiled a new Korean feature film project titled The Family Table, Variety Film reported. The project is being presented as part of the Asian Project Market, which operates within the Asian Contents & Film Market at the Busan International Film Festival. [1]
According to Variety Film, the drama centers on a mild-mannered 42-year-old father named Gyu-seong and his 43-year-old wife Seon-gyeong. Their ordinary family life is disrupted and strained when their 12-year-old daughter is bullied at school, prompting the father to confront the system. [1]
The project is participating in the 31st Busan International Film Festival, which takes place at the Busan Cinema Center from October 6 to October 15, 2026. The festival opened with host Kim Min-ha, while filmmaker Zhang Yimou serves as the competition jury president, and actress Michelle Yeoh received the Asian Filmmaker of the Year Award. [3]
