Craig Zobel has been named as the director for the feature film adaptation of the comic book series Something is Killing the Children. The Hollywood Reporter reported that the announcement was made during the BlumFest panel hosted by Blumhouse Atomic Monster at New York Comic Con on Friday night. The comic series was created by writer James Tynion IV and artist Werther Dell Edera. [1]
The panel featured several prominent talent appearances alongside the announcement. The Hollywood Reporter said that Curry Barker, Mike Flanagan, James Wan, Chiwetel Ejiofor, David Harbour, LaKeith Stanfield, and Kristen Bell participated in the two hour event. Blumhouse Atomic Monster also showcased a trailer for The Exorcist Martyrs and teased additional projects, including Seasons, RoboCop, and Molepeople. [1]
During the same convention event, detail was provided on other horror projects from the studio. Variety reported that LaKeith Stanfield previewed his upcoming movie Molepeople, which is produced by Paramount Primal and Blumhouse Atomic Monster. The film stars Stanfield alongside Ben Mendelsohn and centers on a man who discovers a society in abandoned tunnels beneath New York City. [2]
Blumhouse Atomic Monster also expanded its talent roster at the event. According to Variety, the studio signed a short film development deal with horror content creator Heidi Wong. Under the agreement, Wong will create original horror shorts inspired by Eastern mythology and folklore. [3]
