Women's Prize Trust reveals judging panels for 2027 awards

The Women's Prize Trust has unveiled the judging panels for the 2027 Women's Prize for Fiction and the Women's Prize for Non-fiction, The Bookseller reported. Merve Emre will chair the fiction prize panel, while an Indian-origin author and broadcaster have joined the non-fiction jury, according to reports from The Bookseller, OrissaPOST, and The Economic Times. The Bookseller reported that Emre is the Shapiro-Silverberg professor of creative writing and criticism at Wesleyan University and director of the Shapiro Center for Creative Writing and Criticism. She is the author of Paraliterary: The Making of Bad Readers in Postwar America, published by The University of Chicago Press, and The Ferrante Letters, published by Columbia University Press. Journalist and broadcaster Charlotte Collins, who is editor-in-chief of SheerLuxe, will join Emre on the fiction panel alongside a novelist. [1]

The Women's Prize for Fiction is awarded annually to a female author of any nationality for an original full-length novel written in English and published in the United Kingdom in the preceding year. A sister award, the Women's Prize for Non-Fiction, was introduced in 2023. [6]
