The third El Quisco Book Fair will take place on the central coast of Chile, bringing together literature, arts, and music to celebrate the Chilean author Manuel Rojas. El Ciudadano reported that Mayor Jose Jofre Bustos of the Ilustre Municipalidad de El Quisco, through the local Cultural Unit, extended an invitation to the community and visitors across the province to attend the cultural gathering. [1]

The event is dedicated to honoring Rojas, who won the National Literature Prize in 1957. According to El Ciudadano, the literary fair highlights his major works, including the short story The Glass of Milk from 1926, and the novels Boats in the Bay from 1932 and Son of a Thief from 1951. [1]

Rojas was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on January 8, 1896, to Chilean parents, before moving to Chile early in life and adopting it as his homeland. A self-taught writer who worked in various occupations including journalism, he became a central figure in 20th-century Latin American social realism before his death in Santiago on March 11, 1973. Other book fairs around the world are also announcing major attendance and schedules. Chytomo reported that the Frankfurt Book Fair 2026 drew 236,000 visitors from 137 countries. In addition, Kurdistan24 reported that the 18th Erbil International Book Fair will open on Wednesday with over 400 publishers, while Daily Asian Age reported that the Bangla Academy announced the Ekushey Book Fair 2027 will begin on January 7.
