Author Isabel Allende has left Penguin Random House to join Planeta Group, Diari ARA reported. The move follows her win of the 75th Planeta Prize, which carries an award of one million euros. Planeta Group is currently presided over by José Creuheras. [1]

During her acceptance speech for the award, Allende stated that she had never previously entered a literary contest to avoid coming in last, according to Diari ARA. She had been linked to the Plaza and Janés imprint since her debut novel, The House of the Spirits. [1]

Diari ARA reported that the move reopens industry discussions regarding authors switching publishing houses. Such changes are frequently prompted by literary awards for unpublished work, financial offers, or an author's desire to give a new boost to their career. [1]
