Van Der Beek starred as Dawson Leery on the teen drama series Dawson's Creek from 1998 to 2003. The show spanned six seasons and focused on a group of friends in Capeside, Massachusetts. His main co-stars on the series included Katie Holmes, Joshua Jackson, and Michelle Williams. [5][6]

Beyond his signature role, Van Der Beek portrayed a fictionalized version of himself on Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23 and appeared on Pose.
