Springer Nature honours seventeen editors of BMC Pharmacology and Toxicology

Springer Nature has announced the recipients of its annual Editor of Distinction Awards for 2026, honouring seventeen editors of the journal BMC Pharmacology and Toxicology. Bioengineer.org reported that the awards recognise academic editors who safeguard the quality of peer review and improve the author experience by managing submissions, guiding reviewers, and deciding which studies are published. The annual awards are presented across the journal portfolio of the publisher to acknowledge the editorial labor required to make modern peer review function. Bioengineer.org reported that the selected editors act as mediators between authors and critics to maintain the trustworthiness of the scientific record. [1]

As FTMQ Books reported earlier, Springer Nature previously named 60 academic editors in its 2026 awards scheme, including 30 editors recognized for their work with the journal BMC Geriatrics. The overall program evaluates journal editors on peer review quality, fairness, accuracy, and author experience. [5]

BMC Pharmacology and Toxicology is published by BioMed Central, a United Kingdom-based open access publisher founded in 2000 that produces more than 250 online-only scientific journals. The publisher was acquired by Springer, now Springer Nature, in 2008. [3]
