Film distributor Neon has established its Academy Award campaign strategy for director Luca Guadagnino's upcoming feature film, Artificial. Variety Film and Variety both reported that the distributor will submit actor Andrew Garfield in the Best Supporting Actor category and actor Yura Borisov in the Best Actor category. [1][2]
In the film, Garfield plays the chief executive officer of OpenAI who was ousted from the company before returning five days later. Garfield previously appeared in the 2010 film The Social Network, playing a co-founder of Facebook who was pushed out of the business, Variety Film reported. [1]
The Academy Awards are presented every year by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to recognize achievements in global cinema. Neon is an American independent film production and distribution company that was founded in 2017 by Tom Quinn and Tim League. [3][4]
The Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor has been presented annually since the 9th Academy Awards ceremony. Recipients in the supporting acting categories were given plaques instead of full statuettes until the 16th Academy Awards, when standard statuettes were introduced. [5]
