Canadian author Louise Penny has decided to skip the United States during her promotional tour for her novel Miss Wolcott's Ghost, Publishers Weekly reported. The book is the twenty-first installment in her series featuring Chief Inspector Armand Gamache, the iconic Quebecois homicide detective. [1]

The novel was published on October 20 by Minotaur Books. Speaking to Publishers Weekly from Montreal, Louise Penny stated that the decision to boycott a United States tour was not an easy one for her to make. [1]

A general Canadian boycott of American products and travel to the United States began in response to trade conflicts between the two countries, according to Wikipedia. Louise Penny discussed themes including politics, religion, and forgotten history during her interview about the new release. [1][3]
