Deadline reported that Casey Bloys has signed a multi-year extension to his contract as Co-Chair and Chief Content Officer of Skydance DTC. His existing contract was set to run through the end of 2027. In his expanded position, Casey Bloys will oversee the integration of the operational teams behind streaming platforms HBO Max and Paramount+. [1]
The executive appointment follows major corporate restructuring in the entertainment sector. On February 27, 2026, Paramount Skydance announced its intent to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery for 31 dollars per share, in a transaction valuing the business at 110.9 billion dollars. The acquisition is funded by the Ellison family and RedBird Capital Partners, alongside additional backing from the sovereign wealth funds of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. [4]
The planned acquisition came after initial strategies by Warner Bros. Discovery to split into two separate entities. That proposed separation aimed to detach its less profitable linear television assets from its core assets, which include the Warner Bros. studio business, HBO, and the streaming service HBO Max. [4]
Paramount+ is an American subscription video-on-demand service owned by Skydance Corporation. Originally launched in October 2014 as CBS All Access, the platform draws its content library from various properties owned by Paramount Skydance, including CBS, Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central, Showtime, and Paramount Pictures.
