Richard Rhorer has been appointed publisher of Atria Books' nonfiction list, Publishers Weekly reported. The move comes as Atria Publishing Group introduces a new leadership structure for its nonfiction operations. [1]
The appointment expands the purview of Rhorer, who already serves as vice president and publisher of lifestyle imprint Simon Element and business imprint Simon Acumen. According to Publishers Weekly, Rhorer will start searching immediately for a new nonfiction editorial director at Atria. [1]
The executive shift follows the departure of Kate Napolitano, who previously served as editorial director for the nonfiction program at Atria. Publishers Weekly reported that Napolitano left the company to join Little, Brown as an executive editor earlier this month. [1]
Atria Publishing Group operates as a general interest publishing division of Simon & Schuster. The group launched in 2002 and encompasses multiple imprints alongside its flagship Atria Books line. [5]
